Welcome to Fakes and Frauds

If you landed here expecting a kind word, gentle encouragement, or a safe space for your delicate feelings, keep clicking. We’re fresh out.

My name is Thurston Mabeus Penwick III, and I have taken it upon myself — alone, apparently — to be the last, best line of defense between humanity and the rising tidal wave of magical thinking, pseudoscience, spiritual grift, paranormal nonsense, and outright fraud.

FakesAndFrauds.com exists for one purpose: To rip the glittering mask off every psychic, ghost hunter, fortune teller, energy healer, crystal peddler, conspiracy theorist, and amateur astrologer cluttering up the modern mind.

You will find no “open-minded discussions” here.

You will find no “respectful explorations of alternative beliefs.”

You will find no patience, no tolerance, and no apologies.

What you will find is meticulous observation, reluctant field research, and the occasional scathing rant, all fueled by the bottomless fury of a man who still believes in facts, logic, and the basic dignity of using the brain you were born with.

I attend the ghost tours. I sit through the psychic fairs. I endure the crystal healers, the alien abductees, the paranormal investigators with homemade EMF detectors assembled from RadioShack leftovers.

I do this not for pleasure, but for posterity — so future historians, if any survive, can understand exactly how civilization slid face-first into a vat of wishful thinking and never bothered to climb out.

This site is not here to soothe you. It is not here to validate your “spiritual journey.” It is here to hold a mirror up to every ridiculous idea we dress up in linen robes, sage smoke, and self-importance — and to remind you, should you need reminding, that reality does not care what you believe.

Now that we’ve established the terms, you’re free to browse the archives.
Just mind the shattered illusions on the floor. They’re sharp.
